The ISIS Code is the online shopping industry charter setting out standards
of service.
The ISIS Trust Scheme, and associated ISIS Mark, certify good performance by
e-retailers as defined by the ISIS Code.
The ISIS Code states that:
- All e-commerce services should be legal, decent, honest, truthful and
fair.
- All e-commerce services should be operated with a sense of responsibility
to consumers and to society.
- No merchant should bring e-commerce or ISIS into disrepute.
- The Code is applied in the spirit as well as in the letter.
ISIS Trust Scheme certification requires organisations to:
- comply with the ISIS Code;
- have its web site and service reviewed and monitored by ISIS;
- have its Business, VAT and Data Protection registrations checked by ISIS;
- remove the ISIS Mark if ISIS believes there has been a severe or continued
breach of compliance with the Code or the ISIS Mark standard.
The Internet Shopping Is Safe (ISIS) scheme is run by the industry body for e-retail, IMRG.
