Established in 1987 the original business was mainly concerned with the fitted kitchen market, importing products from throughout europe from manufacturers such as "ARTHUR BONNET" and "RATIONAL" but to name just two. Associated with the kitchen industry is obviously the electrical appliance market, and so the seeds were set for what eventually became known as "THE DISCOUNT APPLIANCE CENTRE".

Today the "DISCOUNT APPLIANCE CENTRE" is well established as the areas leading independent electrical outlet offering a range of products second to none. The recipe for our continued success in this field is a simple one, to have the products our customers require, at the price they want to pay and more importantly having them in stock for immediate collection or delivery. Holding stock is what puts the " DISCOUNT APPLIANCE CENTRE " ahead of our competitors, and now all of those products are available to you on our constantly updated "WEB SITE".

We are constantly redeveloping our showroom to meet with our high standards for customer satifaction which has been rewarded with us becoming Rangemaster and Falcon Design Centres. Also we have been chosen to have one of the First Siemens ECO CENTRES which will offer a new kind of shopping experience all orientated around our carbon footprints. Also 2011 is the year we have been chosen as the areas newest and ONLY Euronics Centre.

Probably the largest selection of "Free Standing" and "Built In" appliances in the area. Our company catchphrase is "NAMES YOU RECOGNISE, PRICES YOU WONT" which is exactly what we have on show. All leading brands from AEG, Liebherr, Falcon, Rangemaster, Hotpoint, Siemens and Neff Plus many many more. Live working appliances and demonstrations also give customers a different interactive retail experience.

Meet the Team

Peter Cook

Peter is our Managing Director and founder of The Discount Appliance Centre Ltd. After 20 years in the Kitchen Industry, Peter decided with his vast experience to expand and specialise in retailing domestic appliances. Hence The Discount Appliance Centre was born in November 1997. Expanding steadily year on year into the multi million pound a year business you see today. Peter is very much a ‘hands’ on MD and will often be found answering sales calls or picking items in our warehouse.

 

 

 

 

  

Iain Moulds

Iain is our Commercial Director and works directly along side Peter in all aspects of the business. Iain has been with The Discount Appliance Centre since it's creation in 1997 having already worked in the kitchen industry with Peter previously, and has built up a knowledge and understanding in appliance retail sales almost second to none. Iain like Peter is a hands on Director dealing with numerous sales calls and customer service issues on a daily basis, whilst ensuring that company marketing agendas and promotions are running smoothly.

 

 

 

 

  

Alex Barton-Hanson

Alex is the main shop floor sales advisor who having worked for The Discount Appliance Centre as a weekend assistant, became full time in 2006. Having excelled throughout his training, Alex is now a very competant sales advisor and has great knowledge on all of the appliances and manufacturers we deal with.   Alex maintains the shop floor and deals with promotions, pricing and inputting in the design of the displays we have whilst dealing with our ever expanding customer base to ensure customer satisfaction is always gained.

 

 

 

 

  

Ben Neil

Ben started working at The Discount Appliance Centre in 2006 working as a sales advisor having gained experience in his previous kitchen sales job. After gaining even more experience throughout his training, Ben has now taken on the role as Internet Manager, maintaining The Discount Appliance Centre's award winning website. Although Ben has not lost his sales abilities and can often be found on the shop floor, the majority of his time is spent updating products and prices on the website in the ever changing world of retail appliance sales. Also Ben designs and inputs into many different aspects of the website.

 

 

 

 

  

Laura Bennett

Laura joined The Discount Appliance Centre as an Internet supervisor in 2005 and quickly excelled in this position. As time progressed Laura was promoted to Warehouse Manager in 2007 and quickly began undertaking the demands of our busy logistics department. Laura oversees the delivery schedules of our company and also the goods in side of the business. Laura also arranges all of our deliveries with the end consumer personally, ensuring that customer satisfaction is always met with our highest standards.

 

 

 

 

Simone Mathias

Simone is the company accountant and deals with our suppliers on a daily basis to ensure the smooth running of the companies orders and finances. Simone has been running the accounts office since 2004 and has recently undertaken the ordering of all our appliance orders to satisfy the expanding growth of the valued customer base we have.

 

 

 

 

 

Adam Phillips

Adam is The Discount Appliance Centre's highly trained engineer focusing most of his work time on servicing and repairing customers appliances and also installing and connecting appliances purchased by customers. Adam has achieved substantial training in many aspects of appliance servicing including being electrically qualified and being a refrigeration specialist. Adam also can be drafted in to overseeing our logistic side of the company, being prepared to make deliveries and take goods into our warehouse.

 

 

 

 

 

Andy Aris

Andy is the most recent member to join The Discount Applliance Centre team having previously worked for the comapny. Andy is the main warehouse operative, focussing most of his time on the delivery side of the business. Andy oversees goods in and out and makes a habit of giving each and every customer on a delivery runs an accurate 2 hour time slot for delivery. As Andy is sometimes the only face our customers see from the company, he takes pride in being knowledgeable about the products we sell so that customers can ask any last queries they have in their own homes.
